Irish Horsemanship & Queensland Training Program
Irish Equestran Arts in association with Brad Weeks of Queensland NH Centre, has designed a progressive system to introduce horse owners and riders to the basic concepts, theories and performance aspects of good horsemanship, working towards the first certificate in the Queensland training system. This program offers four levels, consisting of both groundwork and riding tasks. Certificate 1 aims to educate the budding horseman to learn the basics of horsemanship, with a goal to become safe and effective with your horse. In Certificate 2, skills are developed to a higher level and performance horses maneuvers are introduced. Certificate 3 is for advanced students and contains more difficult tasks with a view towards becoming a professional horseman.
Certificate 1 ground and riding tasks can be downloaded at: http://www.queenslandnaturalhorsemanship.com/qnhccertificate.htm
There are two ways to start training for QNH level 1: 1. Firstly you can book a private lesson at your home with Elaine Heney, and we will begin to work through the level 1 tasks with you & your horse. Homework is assigned at the end of each lesson, consisting of about 2 to 3 weeks work. For more information visit the clinics and lessons page or email us. The level 1 tasks take about 6 to 9 months of work to complete. When everything is perfect you will be invited to send a trial video to Brad in Australia for assessment.
2. Alternatively, you can arrange a group morning or afternoon clinic at your yard/stables, for 3 to five people and horses. Email us for more details, or visit the clinics and lessons page. When everything is perfect you will be invited to send a trial video to Brad in Australia for assessment.
